More Flexibility for International Travelers

Indonesia continues to strengthen its position as one of the world's most diverse travel destinations, making it easier for international travellers to experience the country’s beauty, cultural heritage and unique travel experiences.

In July 2026, Minister of Immigration and Corrections Regulation announced an expansion of free visa visit facility, providing flexibility to more international travellers. The latest policy reflects Indonesia’s efforts to support tourism while considering broader economic, investment and national interest. For more details, you can find in this LINK

For travellers, greater visa accessibility can make an international journey plan simpler and encourage more people to explore destination to Indonesia.

Six Additional Countries Granted Free Visa Visit Facility

As part of latest expansion, Indonesia has added six new countries and entities to its list of free visa visit recipients. The new additions are:

  • Türkiye
  • Brazil
  • Peru
  • Kazakhstan
  • Macao SAR
  • Belarus

The expanded free visa access creates a new opportunity for travellers from different regions to discover Indonesia, from its cultural heritage to its diverse culinary, wellness, adventure and experiences.

For Indonesia’s tourism industry, the expansion also opens opportunities to develop stronger connections with new international markets and introduce travellers to the many destination Indonesia has to offer.

What This Means for Indonesia’s Tourism Industry?

Visa accessibility is one of the factors that can influence how travellers choose and plan international trips. By expanding free visa visit access, Indonesia is creating greater opportunities to welcome visitors from wider range of markets.

The latest policy was established by Minister of Immigration and Corrections Regulation No. 10 of 2026, following considerations including reciprocity, national security, tourism, and other factors determined by the government. More details can be found in this LINK

For the tourism industry, this expansion reflects Indonesia's continued efforts to balance tourism growth with economic interests. It creates an opportunity to introduce new travellers to the many sides of Indonesia, from iconic destinations to nature based experiences across the archipelago.
