Piodalan Ceremony at Smailing Tour DMC
A Day Of Gratitude, Prayer And Togetherness
On Sunday 25th October 2026 at Smailing Tour DMC Bali office, we started the day differently. Our team set aside our usual routine to gathered at the office for Piodalan. From preparation until the ceremony itself, arranging offerings and tending to every little detail was done with care, devotion and the spirit of togetherness.
For many of us, it was more than a ceremony. It was a reminder for us that the work we do is rooted in a place with living traditions.

The Meaning Of Piodalan
Piodalan is the anniversary ceremony of Balinese Hindu temple or sacred space, held to commemorate the day it was consecrated. Offerings are renewed, prayers are said, and gratitude is expressed to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa.
Its timing follows the Balinese lunar calendar. Our Piodalan is held once a year, on the full moon the fifth Balinese month (Purnama Sasih Kalima), so the date shifts from year to year.

Why Piodalan Matters to Our Office
A Sanggah is a family shrine, and ours is part of our workplace. Our Sanggah was built because our owner believes in and deeply respects Bali and their culture, the island that is home for our workplace and guests. That respect shows up in daily life, every day our Hindu team members take turn making daily prayers at sanggah, keeping it cared for and the offerings renewed.
Holding Piodalan every year is a way of keeping that respect active rather than symbolic. It is an act of gratitude, and a prayer for peace, harmony, and prosperity for the team, our families, and everyone connected to our journey. This sacred occasion reminds us of the importance of faith, devotion, and maintaining a harmonious relationship with the divine.

What We Carry Forward
Piodalan comes once in a year, but the practice behind it does not. Between one celebration and the next, the daily prayers at our Sanggah continue, a quiet routine that sits alongside our work. The ceremony is the moment the whole team to gathers around something that is otherwise carried one person at a time.
This celebration is also a time to strengthen our bonds, honour the traditions that surround us, and share a moment of reflection and gratitude together. That is how we spent our Piodalan this year. See how our Piodalan celebration unfolded on our YouTube channel.
