New Direct Flights from Bali to Wakatobi Open the Gateway to Indonesia's Marine Paradise

Indonesia's connectivity continues to expand with the launch of TransNusa's new direct flight between Bali (Denpasar) and Wakatobi (Matahora Airport). As the first scheduled non-stop service connecting the Island of the Gods with one of Indonesia's most spectacular marine destinations, the new route marks an important milestone in making Eastern Indonesia more accessible to both domestic and international travelers.

Operating from 16 July 2026, the route significantly reduces travel time to Wakatobi, allowing visitors to reach the destination in approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, compared with the multiple connections previously required. The service operates three times a week and offers travelers a more convenient way to experience one of the world's most celebrated diving destinations.

Wakatobi: A World Class Destination Beyond the Reef

Located in Southeast Sulawesi, Wakatobi National Park is internationally recognized for its extraordinary marine biodiversity and pristine coral reefs within the Coral Triangle. The destination attracts divers, snorkelers, photographers, and nature enthusiasts seeking crystal clear waters, vibrant coral gardens, and unforgettable underwater encounters.

Beyond its spectacular marine life, Wakatobi also offers authentic cultural experiences through local island communities, traditional Bajo villages, fresh seafood cuisine, and peaceful tropical landscapes. With its blend of nature, culture, and sustainable tourism, Wakatobi has become one of Indonesia's most remarkable hidden gems for travelers looking to explore beyond the country's more familiar destinations.
