A Celebration of Flavors and Purpose

This October, the island of Sumba will play host to an extraordinary event that goes far beyond food. From October 4–18, 2025, Cap Karoso proudly presents the very first Sumba Food Festival, bringing together world-renowned international chefs, local culinary talent, and the rich cultural heritage of Sumba.

The festival promises an impressive lineup of over 30 curated culinary adventures and 15 immersive cultural experiences, each designed to highlight the beauty, diversity, and traditions of this remarkable island. Guests can expect a feast for the senses—where food, culture, and creativity intertwine against the stunning backdrop of Sumba’s landscapes.

But the Sumba Food Festival is more than a culinary celebration, it’s a movement with purpose. Sumba, while blessed with breathtaking natural beauty, faces pressing challenges such as poverty, lack of clean water, and malnutrition. In partnership with local communities, organizations, and festival guests, this initiative will direct its proceeds toward life changing projects. These include:

  • Clean water initiatives to ensure greater access for local families.
  • Sustainable farming programs to nurture long-term food security.
  • Youth empowerment opportunities that open doors for the next generation.
  • Community and nutritional education to foster healthier futures.
  • Food entrepreneurship initiatives to support local livelihoods.

By joining the festival, participants are not only indulging in world-class culinary Xperiences but also contributing to a greater mission: using food as a force for good.

The
Sumba Food Festival 2025 is a chance to savor, celebrate, and support—a unique opportunity to Xperience the island through its flavors while making a positive impact on the community.
